‘Huge honor’: Angel Locsin receives FPJ Memorial Award at 2020 FAMAS Awards

Actress Angel Locsin said it’s a ‘huge honor’ to have been chosen as this year's recipient of the award.

Angel Locsin was accorded the Fernando Poe, Jr. Memorial Award at the recently held Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) 2020 digital awards night.

On Instagram, the actress said it's a "huge honor" to have been chosen as the recipient of the award.

"Alam niyo po isa sa mga pinaka-pinanghihinayangan ko ay ang hindi po ako na-bless na makatrabaho si Da King, ang nagi-isang FPJ. Kaya po ang mahandugan po ng Fernando Poe, Jr. Memorial Award ay napakaling karangalan po para sa akin. Hindi ko po akalain na makakaabot po ako sa ganitong antas at tinitingala ko po talaga si Sir FPJ," she said.

She also expressed her gratitude to FPJ's family and to the team behind this year's FAMAS.

"Kaya nagpapasalamat po ako, of course, sa Poe family at nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng bumubuo ng FAMAS Digital 2020. Of course, sa MEGAVISION Integrated, ang producer po ng this year's FAMAS," she said. "Maraming maraming salamat po sa napakalaking karangalang ito. Mabuhay po kayo."

Aside from Angel, other stars who were given special recognition at the 2020 FAMAS Awards were Pokwang, Liza Soberano, and Matteo Guidicelli.
