"Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala."
These were the words of John Prats following the success of this year's ABS-CBN Christmas special, which he directed.
In an Instagram post, the FPJ's Ang Probinsyano star said helming the event, which was streamed live on Sunday, December 20, was a "dream come true."
"To God be the glory!" he said. "Salamat mga KAPAMILYA! Lord God maraming salamat! Para sa 'Yo po ito!!!"
Comments were a flood of congratulatory messages from his industry friends, including Julia Montes, Moira dela Torre, Darren Espanto, Vhong Navarro, Ryan Bang, Joross Gamboa, and Gretchen Ho.
John's wife, Isabel Oli, also congratulated her husband for a successful show on her Instagram page.
"So proud of you @direkpratty!!! Still can’t believe it!!! Thank you ABS-CBN for the trust," she said.
"Grabe yung opening, naiyak ako. Heartwarming," she added.
Titled Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya, the Christmas special featured holiday-themed performances from top Kapamilya artists, such as Coco Martin, Vice Ganda, Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla.
The event—streamed live on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel 11, TFC, and iWant TFC—comes months after lawmakers denied ABS-CBN's application for a new franchise, shuttering the network's free TV and radio services, and resulting in massive layoffs, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
