While doing home quarantine with her family earlier this year, actress Kira Balinger admitted she feared for the uncertain future of her career. The 20-year-old actress could not be happier when the offer came to join the second book Ang sa Iyo ay Akin last October.
“I definitely feel that kasi ako lang yung actress in the family. All the pressure is on me so iniisip ko lagi all the pressure is on me, ano na next na mangyayari, will I still have work or pahinga muna? Rotate muna? Ganun. But I just have to be grateful for this moment eh. I always pray to God. I never forget Him. I always thank Him for all of the blessings and I trust in Him na hindi Niya ako pababayaan,” she shared.
Born in Hong Kong to a British father and a Filipina mother, Kira was most recently part of the Kapamilya drama series Pamilya Ko which aired earlier this year. Kira now plays the role of Hope Villarosa in Ang sa Iyo ay Akin. It’s a role that pairs her up with new love team partner Grae Fernandez.
The model-turned-actress admits she has not set aside plans to become a beauty queen because of showbiz. “Definitely andiyan pa rin sa mga plano ko pero siyempre tutok ako sa acting ngayon. I’m still very happy in the acting scene. And I’m still quite young to be focusing on a beauty pageant. And I have a lot of things in life that I still need to learn before I enter a beauty pageant. But to join one is still definitely in my plans,” she said.
The Ang sa Iyo ay Akin actress said that it will she is not considering joining any competition until she turns 23. “I think that’s when I feel I would be ready to join. Siyempre nakaka-pressure din ang mag-beauty pageant. It’s a big platform where makikita lahat ng advocacies mo, how can you can help and everything. So I really need to prepare for that type of responsibility,” she added.
