In a series of Twitter updates by TV Patrol reporter MJ Felipe, it was reported that AKTOR: The League of Filipino Actors is now officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Sitting as chairman of the board is Dingdong Dantes while Agot Isidro presides as CEO and president.
Last July, the actor-director posted about the creation of the group which is composed of the showbiz industry’s co-creators and collaborators in order to give them a collective voice on different issues. AKTOR was created last May 30

According to another tweet, MJ shares that “AKTOR is open to all active (2-3 years active work in TV, Film and stage - mainstream or indie) actors. In a zoom interview with some of its Board of Directors, the group shared that the thrust of AKTOR is to look after the welfare of the community in the industry.”
AKTOR president Agot Isidro also aired the lack or work opportunities for members of the industry during the pandemic. “A lot of our members, siguro half are not working. Hindi pa sila back to work. There are fortunate ones na back to working pero yung iba are still not working.'
MJ also included in his update that AKTOR has been actively helping some of its members through an initiative called the AKTOR TINDAHAN as well as raising funds to buy more than a million’s worth of relief goods and financial aid to families recently affected by Typhoon Ulysses last month.
Another issue that AKTOR is advocating is an earlier cut-off during production as well as having a physical office and benefits like retirement and healthcare for its members.
AKTOR member Mylene Dizon shared her sentiments about the group’s impact for change. “Pangarap ko talaga na mag-iba ang tingin ng tao sa amin. Hindi lang kami marunong magpapatak ng luha sa kaliwang mata namin. Meron kaming saysay. We count..”
