Actress Arci Muñoz, who is a sergeant of the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command, joined its relief mission in typhoon-hit Catanduanes on Monday, December 7.
On Instagram, Arci shared photos from the mission, showing her giving away relief goods to families affected by the rampage of typhoons Rolly and Ulysses last month.
"From Subic to Villamor to Catanduanes, I joined my brothers and sisters in the force and also through the initiative of Air Asia, we had a successful humanitarian relief operation in Catanduanes as soon as we arrived," she wrote in the caption.
Based on a Facebook post shared by Air Asia, which led the mission, the relief goods were distributed to affected residents in Barangay Sto. Domingo, San Isidro, and San Vicente in the town of Virac.
During the relief operations, Arci said she witnessed the "poor conditions our kababayans continue to live through caused by the aftermath of typhoon Ulysses and Rolly."
"Like a bandaid to a deep cut, we provided temporary relief for their daily needs," she said. "But what they need is permanent solutions like rebuilding sturdier homes and providing livelihood so they can start again."
Arci, 31, became a sergeant of the Philippine Air Force Reserve Command after completing the Basic Citizen Military Training last October.
She first revealed that she enlisted to be a reservist for the Philippine Air Force last June.
"Maligayang Araw ng Kasarinlan, mahal kong Pilipinas! Ngayon araw din ang aking unang pisikal na pagsasanay bilang kaunaunahang babae sa aking henerasyon at propesyon na sumasailalim sa [Philippine Air Force] reservist BCMT - Basic Citizen Military Training,” she said in her post at that time.
"Hinihikayat ko po ang aking mga kapwa kababaihan na mag-enlist. Marami pong salamat sa aking Philippine air force family. Asahan nyo po ang aking buong pusong dedikasyon at serbisyo," she added.
