‘90s music icons Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys surprised fans with a collaboration on Friday, December 11.

Britney Spears dropped not just one, but two surprises for her fans as the Deluxe edition of her 2016 album Glory and an infectious new track featuring Backstreet Boys, one of the biggest boy groups back in the ‘90s.

She wrote: “’Matches’ featuring my friends @backstreetboys is out now! I’m so excited to hear what you think about our song together! You can also listen to Glory Deluxe everywhere now!”

In what seems to be an attempt to bring back the sound of her generation, Britney did not disappoint her fans with the release of the song with no less than two of the ‘90s biggest pop icons in it.

A trailblazer in the world of teen pop, Britney Spears is known for her hits such as “… Baby One More Time,” “Ooops…! I Did It Again,” “Womanizer,” “Gimme More,” and “If You Seek Amy.”

The 39-year-old Grammy-winning singer — who last came to Manila in 2017 — remains one of the world’s most celebrated pop icons, with 150 million records sold worldwide.

Meanwhile, Backstreet Boys, also known as BSB, likewise released numerous hits over the years including the songs “I Want It That Way,” “Everybody,” “As Long As You Love Me,” and “Quit Playing Games.”

Earlier this year, Backstreet Boys had a virtual concert back in April.
