With the country still affected by the pandemic situation, actor Jameson Blake said he still spent his time productively even though he was not able to continue regular work during the past few months before he started shooting his new BL film My Lockdown Romance.

“Spending more time with my family, yun ang pinaka importante and it’s been okay so far. May projects once in a while. Spending time with my family and I’m trying to build my Facebook community at the same time. It’s been okay despite everything that’s been going on,” he shared during the My Lockdown Romance mediacon.

When he was first offered the lead in the upcoming Boys Love-themed movie, Jameson admitted he made sure he was ready before accepting the new project. “First I thought about it by myself. Ako mag-isa tapos sinabi ko din sa mommy ko kung ano tingin niya sa character and ayun, I just had to read the script and yung character description and siguro in one or two days napaisip lang ako. I still needed time to think about it then I was sure to take the role kasi nagustuhan ko naman siya,” he recalled.

In My Lockdown Romance, the story shows the challenges of dealing with old ghosts coming back to haunt a guy named Tom (Jameson) when he suddenly must face the feelings he has long suppressed for his best friend from college Kendrick (Joao Constancia) who returns from Hawaii and seeks to reconnect with him. Told through the social media and online conference calls that everyone has grown accustomed to during the pandemic, the film explores how once broken relationships can be repaired even during these trying times.

After shooting My Lockdown Romance and being part of past LGBTQ themed projects like 2 Cool 2 Be Forgotten, Jameson said he is open to the possibility to doing kissing scenes in future BL projects depending on the quality of the story.

“Personally it depends on the script. I actually don’t mind because as an actor we actually have to do things like that and we’re playing a role and okay lang naman sa akin. It really depends on the project if I’ll do it or not. I want to try different roles and I’m so happy that I actually pulled it off,” he explained.
