Actress and jewelry designer KC Concepcion has raised more than P200,000 from the ready-made, handcrafted jewelry she sold to support typhoon relief efforts in the country.
KC made the announcement in an Instagram post, thanking all those who purchased from her jewelry collection, Avec Moi, from November 17 to November 27.
True to her promise, KC donated the proceeds to Project Silong of the World Wildlife Fund-Philippines (WWF-PH), which aims to help rebuild the lives of Filipino fishermen who have lost their boats, homes, and livelihood in the recent back-to-back typhoons Rolly and Ulysses.
"Thank YOU to all who supported our cause with every @avecmoijewelry piece purchased from Nov 17-Nov 27! YOU are the reason we’ve been able to directly donate P200,000 to @wwfphilippines #ProjectSilong drive that will help provide 2,511 fiberglass boats for sustainable fishing & rebuild lives of our fishermen in Bicol, Philippines," she said.
Aside from the WWF-PH, KC has also partnered with the Office of the Vice President and the Kaya Natin movement to distribute 200 packs of relief goods worth P500 each to the affected communities in Cagayan Valley.
"THANK YOU!!! Maraming salamat, loves," she added.
In addition to the jewelry pieces she sold, KC also auctioned off some of her pre-owned items to support WWF-PH's Project Silong. Among the items she put up for sale through her account KC's closet were gowns, dresses, and corsets.
Last week, KC made headlines after personally visiting Tuguegarao to distribute relief goods for the affected families in Cagayan, which was among the worst-hit areas by the Typhoon Ulysses.
