Mickey Ferriols opened up about how she became on good terms with ex-boyfriend Archie Alemania.
In an interview in Magandang Buhay, Mickey admitted that though they had a hard time patching things up initially, selflessness led them to become friends again. The actress has a son with Archie named Marcus Brent.
"To be honest, hindi siya naging smooth sailing. It wasn't easy. Dumaan kami sa argue, 'yung lagi kayong nagbi-bicker, nagtatampuhan. Pero at some point parang you grew out of it. Ang sinabi ko you know what my son needs Archie, who is happily married right now. When you don't think about yourself madali 'yung decision. When you're selfless, it's so easy, ganoon 'yung nangyari,” she said.
Mickey relayed that she has an open communication with Archie. The latter can also see their son anytime.
“So ngayon okay na okay kami. Open 'yung communication. When he wants to see Brent anytime, go. He can see Brent anytime. Minsan nago-overnight si Brent sa kanila or they go out of town, go lang," she said.
The actress stressed that kids should not suffer from the circumstances that their parents had to deal with.
"Kasi it's very unfair na ang kids natin ang magsa-sacrifice, ang magsa-suffer, just because hindi nagkakasunduan 'yung parents, it's very unfair. They did not ask for that. Ang gusto lang nila, ang kailangan lang nila ay 'yung pagmamahal natin," she remarked.
Mickey also shared advice to those who are having a hard time to forgive their former partners.
"Ako personally when you don't think about yourself, uunahin mo siyempre 'yung bata, it should come easy. Isipin mo na lang walang maidudulot na maganda whether sa anak or sa iyo or sa future niyo ang pagiging bitter, ang pagiging unforgiving. It's not helpful and it's not healthy," she stated.
It was in 2009 when Mickey admitted that her relationship with Archie already ended.
