Even after revealing that he had been dealing with a panic disorder last August, JM De Guzman has been keeping busy trying to become a good example for his followers as he said that he had recently graduated after eight months of doing army reservist training. Now a member of the Philippine Air Force Reserve, JM shared his sergeant status in his latest social media post.

On his Instagram account last November 22, he wrote, “Finally after 8 months, I finished my Philippine Air Force, Special Basic Citizen Military Training CL-2020 (lectures, drills, and rigorous simulations and trainings) of Air Force Reserve Command conducted by 1st Air Reserve Center. Special thanks to Lt. Col Hermie Calubiran Jr. PAF.

“I learned a lot about myself, character, and gained a lot of wisdom in this training. My respect higher to our soldiers.

“As a reservist, I’m ready to serve my country, help those in need or help ,or in the dark (as cliche as it may sound) because I was in need of help before and was also in the dark too. So I know how it feels like. Blessed and graced to stand up again and make things right and now its time for me to give back.

“It will be easy for me to do this with the guidance and support of our astig regular soldiers.

“At siyempre ang sinumpaang tumulong protektahan ang Inang bayan.

“Shout out to my wrestling coach/Airforce staff Sgt. Jimmy Angana for the help.
🇵🇭”

Other celebrities who have also undergone training and completed their requirements to become reservists include Matteo Guidicelli, Dingdong Dantes, Gerald Anderson, Arci Muñoz, and most recently, Winwyn Marquez who also posted about graduating as a Navy reservist this month.

Arci was able to witness JM’s latest milestone as she happened to be fulfilling her sergeant duties as a reservist to assist new trainees.

“Squeezed in my sergeant duties in between our hectic locked in shoot for Walang Hanggang Paalam. (Following strict protocols) to assist new batches of reservist trainees. And to see my bestie fulfill his training so proud of you sergeant! @1migueldeguzman #airforce,” she wrote on her Instagram.

After being part of the teleserye Pamilya Ko and the iWantTV digital film Love Lockdown earlier this year, JM has also kept himself productive even while doing home quarantine by helping and reaching out to those in need as well as composing and releasing two new singles last June.
