Amid the widespread flooding that affected many families across the National Capital Region, singer-vlogger Donnalyn Bartolome donated rescue boats to Marikina and Rizal to aid in the rescue operations.
On Thursday, November 12, Donnalyn announced on social media that she was looking for volunteers to operate the rescue boats she was buying.
"MARIKINA and RIZAL residents sino ang gusto magvolunteer for rescue? Marunong magsagwan at lumangoy, kahit magbayad ako. I’m buying boats na so let me know asap! Need na ng help ng barangays dahil lagi na busy ang lines nila. God help those who need you please please," she posted.
Moments later, Donnalyn shared that she already bought the boats and the items are already on the way to Rizal and Marikina.
"We got big boats in a truck on the way to Rizal and Marikina," Donnaln shared on her Facebook page on Thursday, November 12.
She added, "Rescuers are complete. Marikina* resident rescuers for Marikina* and Rizal Chairman will lead rescue for Rizal. They’ll just send proof of proper use ng boats solely for rescuing people and animals. THANK YOU for helping me find rescuers. I don’t know anyone from the areas affected so I really needed it. Rest your hearts, we’ll get through this."
A few hours later, Donnalyn relayed that the boats were already delivered to Montalban, Rizal and that she was already on her way to Marikina.
"Boats delivered to Montalban Rizal. Get to safety everyone (read the post). Otw to Marikina right now to deliver more boats but natirikan ako guys dahil sa baha. So sorry we are trying our best please wait lang po. MARIKINA WAIT PO you’re next na, rescuers pls standby," she said.
The singer went live on her Facebook page on Thursday night and called for volunteers for the people of Rizal. She also expressed her gratitude to the Philippine Coastguard in Marikina for helping them.
She posted: “NAKITA KO PO YUNG ACTION NIYO SA MARIKINA I WAS THERE THANK YOU SO MUCH PERO SANA PO SA RIZAL NAMAN PO TAYO. PASENSYA NA PO SA ISTORBO ANDAMI TALAGA LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION NA PO PLEASE.”
“UPDATE: MAY NAKAUSAP NAKO OFFICIAL GUYS CONTACT FOR COASTGUARD THANK YOU. KAPIT LANG TAG NIYO DIN MGA KAKILALA NIYO FROM COAST GUARD INCASE.”
