This year a new version of the song will be released.
Performed by Vivoree Esclito and Patrick Quiroz, the new version of ABS-CBN's popular Christmas song will be available on October 9.
“Here’s an early Christmas gift for all of you! From their undeniable chemistry in Hello, Stranger, @patrickquiroz_ & @vivoree [are] releasing their version of ‘Star ng Pasko’ will be out on Oct. 9 on all Digital Streaming Platforms,” Star Pop PH announced on its Twitter page.

Patrick and Vivoree also invited their fans to pre-save the song before its release date.
Filipinos first listened to “Star ng Pasko” in 2009 in ABS-CBN's Christmas Station ID. It was written by Robert Labayen with original music by Marcus and Amber Davis.
The song, which talks about hope, was released in 2009 following the catastrophic effects of Typhoon Ondoy.
It’s original version has already gained more than 39 million views on YouTube as of this writing.
