Aside from her fitness routines, actress Aubrey Miles also busies herself with gardening, as evident in her Instagram posts.
In fact, she calls herself “The Mother Plant” in her Instagram bio. She also has many IG highlights compiled dedicated to her gardening.
But while many people were turned into “plantitos” and “plantitas” only this quarantine period, Aubrey has already been a plant lover for a long time.
Good morning. I had my first Calathea Orbifolia 6years ago. I thought that it was one of the most difficult plants I’ve had but turns out it’s one of the easiest plant for me now. All I can say is experience Lol. Parang workout lang practice lang. Keep planting. You’ll get better at it. KEEP SMILING from @gaocdental #sharethegaocsmile @drstevemarkgan #amilesplants
When you buy expensive clothes, bags, shoes it’s luxurious. When you buy an expensive plant, some say it’s nonsense, absurd and crazy. To each his own, and whatever makes you happy makes you happy. Everyone deserves to be happy. It goes both ways. Bag lang yan, shoes lang yan, halaman lang yan🤷🏻♀️ Only that person who’s collecting will understand. We all have our own. We’re all entitled to our own opinion but my thing “ DON’T HATE WHAT WE DON’T UNDERSTAND “. Sabi nga nila kanya kanya yan. Ano yung isang wish mo na gustong gusto mong i-collect? In an exclusive interview with PUSH last year, the Pasion de Amor actress showed her plant collection at home.
The actress said that having plants gives her the feeling of having a lot of kids. “Feeling ko ang dami kong anak. Ang dami mong inaalagaan and I feel responsible. I feel na pag-uwi ko, parang ang dami naghihintay sa’kin. Then pag nagtatravel ako, I worry. ‘Yung parang they give you a sense of responsibility also,” she said.
As to what turned her into a plantita, Aubrey recalled that growing up, she was surrounded by plants as her mother loves flowers. So when her mother moved to the United States years later, she missed her mom’s vibes, hence, she began to collect plants as well.
She also shared some plant care tips such as storing and using rainwater to water indoor plants, using fertilizer once a month, and cutting dead leaves off. She said she also touches the soil to see if the plants need watering.
“Very fulfilling siya kasi once na nagbigay siya ng leaves, new life, parang feeling mo mga anak mo sila. ‘Nung buntis ako, talagang grabe ‘yung plants ko, kasi parang wala akong ginagawa, sobrang parang ‘yung nesting ko is planting,” she said, adding that for her a plant is like a person growing in front of you.
