As one of the celebrities in Philippine showbiz with a career that has spanned over four decades, Sharon Cuneta has grown a loyal following since she started out her recording career with songs like “Tawag ng Pag-ibig” and “Mr. DJ” at the age of 12 and began doing movies at 15 years old starting with Dear Heart.
The Megastar’s loyal fans, who call themselves Sharonians, some who have followed Sharon from her teenage years up until the present, have also become close to the singer-actress herself. In her Instagram post last October 3, Sharon reveals the loss of one of her biggest supporters.
“I am so heartbroken...
“I had turned off all notifications on my phone for my messages & have not been checking them since several days ago, like I haven’t been on any social media except to post my ‘Thank Yous’ on IG, when I started my socmed & phone detox. As it turns out, which my masahista Bing told me about just now, one of my ‘originals,’ my REMY RAMIREZ, the President of The Solid Sharon Cuneta Fan Club since the late ‘70s or early ‘80s - and who stayed solid and loved me ‘til the very end, when she became sick, and who now, has left behind me & other Sharonians, epecially those who were her members, and many who just became her friends…”
The 54-year-old host and actress also shared how saddened she is by the loss of friends and family this year.
“I am heartbroken...
“Too many of those close to my heart have been going since last year...This year, when COVID has taken away many, other things took my beloved friends, my family in my Tita Paz, other relatives...2020 sana matapos na ang pagkuha mo sa amin at mga mahal namin,” she added.
Also included in her post was a heartfelt message for her late fan who recently succumbed to the COVID-19 virus. She wrote, “Remy, nasaan ka man, hinding-hindi kita kakalimutan. At all these years, di ka nagbago sa pagmamahal at loyalty mo sa akin...I will miss you so much, my Remy...I feel like I just lost another part of my youth, kasi kasama kita mula noon...May you rest in peace, dearest Remy...I know you are with God kasi puro at tapat ang puso mo...ako lang talaga ang minahal mo...di ko kakalimutan yon kahit kailan...Maraming, maraming salamat sa pagmamahal at loyalty mo sa akin...Mahal na mahal kita…”
