Singer LA Santos creates new music label and launches songwriting competition for Christmas songs

Maganda ang layunin ng singer/songwriter na si LA Santos kung bakit niya nilikha online reality show na The Search for the Sound of Seven Thousand Christmas Songs at ang itinatag ang music label na 7K Sounds.Una, gusto raw niyang maramdaman pa rin ng mga Pilipino na tuloy ang Pasko kahit may global pandemic sa pamamaitan ng mga Christmas songs na kanilang madi-discover. Ikalawa, gusto rin daw niyang matulungan ang mga aspiring songwriters sa bansa. “Our aim is to discover Filipino Christmas Songs that will amplify how hopeful Filipinos are for a happy Christmas in spite of the ongoing global pandemic and national crisis,” wika pa ni LA.Patuloy niya, “Lahat ng mga nakarinig na sa akin, alam nilang sobra-sobrang passionate ako sa OPM. I want OPM to make a name for itself. I want to hear Filipinos say, ‘I love OPM.’“Parang yung K-Pop, sobrang own nila yon, proud sila sa Korea. I want Filipinos to achieve that also, that certain level of love to our music and I want Filipinos to understand that we Filipinos are very-very great singers talaga.”Naniniwala din ang singer na marami pang nakatagong talento sa mga isla ng Pilipinas na naghihintay lang mabigyan ng pagkakataon at exposure para makilala.“We want to discover and explore that more. May platform na tayo, eh, kasi sayang, eh. We have this platform na we can take advantage of and we have this platform na very, very lucky to have kasi hindi lahat ng tao mayroon nito,” sambit pa niya.Makakasama ni LA bilang host ng online show si Gretchen Ho, Iman Franchesca, at Nicole Asensio. Si Alco Guerrero naman na executive at creative director ng 7K Sounds ang siya ring magdidirek ng online songwriting competition.Ang songwriting contest ay open to all unsigned Filipino music artists aged 16 and above. Puwede ito sa grupo o individual. Each contestant must submit an audition piece with an introduction and at least one original Christmas song.
