Miss Manila Alexandra Abdon set the online world abuzz once again, this time because of her answer to Rabiya Mateo's final question in the beauty pageant.
Alexandra first caught the attention of many netizens because of her answers during the preliminary round of the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
After the pageant concluded last Sunday, October 25, a new interview of Alexandra has gone viral, this time with “The Geri General” on YouTube. In the said video, Alexandra was asked about what would be her answer to Rabiya’s final question: “If you could create any new paper currency with the image of a Filipino on it, dead or alive, who would it be and why?"
In response, Alexandra said, "Katulad ng explanation ko kanina, wala akong maisip na mas magandang sagot. So, kung anong narinig kong sagot, so kung ano yung sinagot ni Rabiya, ‘yun na rin lang ang sagot ko!”
She added, “And for the record, ‘yon yung winning answer. So, bakit ka pa magbibigay ng sariling opinion, may nanalo na?”
Miss Manila also expressed her admiration for Rabiya saying, “Congrats, Rabiya. Basta Ilongga, guwapa!”
Many netizens urged Alexandra to join the upcoming Pinoy Big Brother, saying that her personality will shine on the show.
"Pag nag big brother toh... sobrang raming manonood! Pramis! Girl, go na... Audition ka na sa KUMU, strike while the iron is hot," one netizen commented on the video.
"After preliminary lagi ko na sinusubaybayan. Ang chilll and ang authentic ng personality. PBB ka na Ms. Manila or vlog. I swear napakadaming susuporta," another netizen said.
It can be recalled that Rabiya's winning answer for the paper bill question was choosing Miriam Defensor-Santiago as the image of any new paper currency that she could create if given the chance.
“If I were given the chance, I want to use the face of Miriam Defensor Santiago for those who don't know, she was an Ilongga. But what I admired about her is that she used her knowledge, her voice to serve the country.
"And I want to be somebody like her. Somebody who puts her heart, her passion into action. And after all, she is the best president that we never had,” Rabiya said during the final Q and A.
Miss Universe Philippines announced Rabiya as the winner on Sunday, October 25, at the Baguio Country Club.
