During the virtual presscon for her upcoming online fundraising auction “Pakpak ng Pangarap,” happening on October 31, director and Nickl Entertainment head Cathy Garcia-Molina asked help from the media not just to help promote and support her advocacy to help provide 100 laptops to deserving Filipino students but also to help report a poser online who has been soliciting money from her friends and family. She revealed her dilemma during the mediacon last October 22.

Kasi nag-post daw po kayo na you’re in need of help, ganyan, ganyan.’ Kaninang umaga akala ko tumigil na siya, but I got a call from my Globe relations manager. Sabi niya, ‘Direk, did you message me this morning sa messenger po?’ So blinock niya agad,” she shared.

The Star Cinema director said she is saddened by the unknown individual who has been using her name just to solicit money. Pero yung manghingi ka, under the disguise of my name, is not right anymore. That’s why with me there asking for help, alam naman nila na hindi ko sila gagantsuhin. We really just want to help,” she said.

Despite having repeatedly reported the profile online, direk Cathy said she feels helpless because of how much the poser knows about her security. “A friend of mine tinulungan na ako kaya daw nasasagot daw lahat ng security questions. It’s so hard. Hindi ko alam. Sana nanunuod siya sa akin and I hope I’m okay with you pretending to be me but please do not ask for things like that. I don’t do that. I will not post on my wall and ask for help. Kung wala na ako, I will not beg around asking for load,” she added.
