The first trailer for Antoinette Jadaone's upcoming film, Fan Girl, starring Paulo Avelino and Charlie Dizon, has been released.
Set to premiere at this year's Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), the movie tells the story of an obsessed teenaged fan named Jane (Charlie) who finds herself stuck inside a mansion with her celebrity idol (Paulo) for one night "and learns exactly why they say never meet your heroes."

Fan Girl will premiere at the 33rd TIFF, which is scheduled for October 31. It is the only Filipino movie in the lineup, and will be vying for the Audience Award together with 31 other movies included in the section.
Aside from TIFF, the film will also be competing at Estonia’s annual Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival next month.
Fan Girl is produced by Black Sheep Studios, Project 8, Globe Studios, Epicmedia, and Crossword Productions.
It is the latest film of Director Antoinette, after the 2019 romance drama Alone/Together, which starred real-life couple Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
Earlier, Antoinette said she had no problem getting Paulo on board for the film last year.
"When I sent Paulo the script, nung tinanggap niya ang pelikula, sabi niya lang, ‘Game!’ At napakasarap nun para sa isang writer at direktor na umpisa pa lang, nagkaintindihan na kami sa vision ng pelikula. Salamat, Pau!" she said.
She also praised Charlie for her "heartfelt and riveting" performance in Fan Girl.
"Salamat sa buong pusong pagganap. Ramdam ko ang dedikasyon mo sa proyekto, pati ang pagpunta mo sa Baclaran Church para ipagdasal ito," she said.
Charlie, for her part, said the movie left a massive mark on her acting career.
"Sobrang nagmarka sakin ang Fan Girl not only because first major film ko, but also because of the experience. Sobrang dami ko pong natutunan while we were doing the film. Ito na ata yung pinakanahirapan ako dahil hindi lang siya emotionally challenging, physically and psychologically din. Pero sobrang worth it lahat ng experience," she said.
According to the promising new actress, destiny paved the way for her to audition for the lead role.
"Noong una, wala po akong idea na may project na Fan Girl at matagal na silang naghahanap for the role. Sobrang biglaan po yung audition and I remember holiday nun kaya muntik na talagang di ako makapag-audition. I had no idea about the story but I went because I knew na si Direk Tonet yung director," she shared.
"During the audition, pagpasok ko pa lang, sabi agad, pakibura lahat ng makeup. So dun pa lang kinabahan na talaga ako. Siyempre nahiya ako sa no makeup face look dahil first time ko mag-audition nang ganun. And then after I said my lines, tawang-tawa ako sa harap nila sa sobrang awkward at hiya. But thank you Direk Tonet and to the whole team behind 'Fan Girl for the trust," she added.
