Celebrity siblings Claudine and Marjorie Barretto took to social media on Thursday, October 15, to mark the first death anniversary of their father, Miguel Alvir Barretto.
On her Instagram page, Claudine shared photos and a video of a family gathering attended by her mother Estrella "Inday” and her brother J.J.
“So today, October 15, is the first death anniversary of my dad and we chose to honor him,” said the actress.
“We terribly miss u Dad. It’s been 1 year already & it hurts more & more each day. We luv u Daddy, forever & always,” she wrote in the caption.
Though she wasn’t able to attend, Claudine said her sister Gretchen sent a flower arrangement for the occasion.
Meanwhile, Marjorie shared a smiling photo of their father.
In the caption, the former actress admitted that she still misses her dad.
"One year in heaven today. I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU, Dad. I'm missing you too much," she wrote in the caption.
"Please say a prayer for him. May he always be remembered as a wonderful man. One of a kind," she added.
Marjorie's children Dani and Julia also shared their message for their grandfather.
One year without you. One year without your warm hugs, your corny jokes, and that smile. The smile that makes everything better. I miss you so much, Pikey. I hope you’re having the best time there in heaven. I love you! I love you! I love you forever, Pikes! Please always watch over us. Especially Mom. Its been hard not having you around, but know that you’re and will always be in our hearts.
The Barretto patriarch passed away on October 15, 2019 due to acute respiratory failure, according to Marjorie. He was 82.
His death sparked a controversial feud among his daughters Claudine, Marjorie, and Gretchen, which involved a scuffle at his wake in front of President Rodrigo Duterte.
