With her first digital series The House Arrest of Us all set to premiere online starting October 24, Kathryn Bernardo said shooting the show during a pandemic has been a different kind of experience for her and co-star Daniel Padilla.

“I think it’s very different work-wise sa nakasanayan namin on how we do shooting, kung paano kami sa set. Lahat yun iba. But most especially iba kasi first time namin gumawa ng ganito ka-light ni DJ. Minsan feeling ko masyado bang seryoso yung ginagawa ko sa taping, yung ganyan. Kasi parang ibang genre ito sa amin. Far from the movies and teleseryes we’ve done. so dun kami medyo nanibago and also kung paano sa set like yung tao limited. Tulong tulong talaga lahat kasi kung naka-lock-in kami ng ilang weeks dun and hindi lahat ng usual na tao na nakakasama namin sa circle puwede. So isa yun sa adjustment at nag-work naman. Nagtulungan talaga lahat. Medyo nakakpanibago lang the first few days. Pero madaling naka-adjust,” she shared during The House Arrest of Us virtual media conference last October 14.

In the new digital series, Kathryn plays the newly engaged woman named Q who finds herself doing home quarantine with her fiancé Korics (Daniel Padilla) and both their families while being forced to live together under one roof during the ECQ.

Unlike their previous teleseryes, Kathryn says The House Arrest of Us will follow a limited number of episodes. “Kami actually ni DJ we like this set-up kasi nag-sti-stick tayo sa story kung ano talaga yung linatag nung writers yuna ng ifa-follow namin. Kami personally we like watching series na weekly din. I think this is a good way para ma-try natin na hindi siya yung nakasanayan natin but it’s something na puwede natin gawin in the coming years. So excited kami kung paano siya matatanggap ng mga tao and 13 episodes lang siya so strictly yun lang talaga. Let’s see kung magkakaroon pa ng season two or kung ano man. Pero kami, mas prefer namin yung ganito than yung daily,” she explained.

During the event, the 24-year-old actress also confirmed that she has no plans to switch networks. “Aside from ABS-CBN being our mother network, sobrang malaking bagay sa akin ang loyalty. So andito kami, patuloy na naniniwala na babangon ang ABS-CBN and we’re praying for that,” she admitted.

The House Arrest of Us also stars Alora Sasam, Ruffa Gutierrez, Herbert Bautista, Dennis Padilla, Arlene Muhlach, and Gardo Versoza. It will start airing on October 24 on KTX.ph and will also be available on iWantTFC.
