Romnick Sarmenta and his girlfriend, actress Barbara Ruaro, are expecting their first child together.
In an Instagram post, Romnick said he’s “infinitely blessed” as he shared a photo of a pregnancy test stick manifesting a positive result.
“Infinitely Blessed with Your Affirmation. Iba Ka Panginoon, maraming salamat po,” Romnick wrote in the caption.
Barbara likewise shared a photo showing her pregnancy test results as she confirmed that she’s five months into her pregnancy.
“The cross that appeared on my test and this miracle as a whole is Your loudest yet most comforting affirmation. I praise and thank You for my Nicko, and all our friends and families who have expressed and continue to show their love and undying support. See you on February, Little Bean,” Barbara wrote. \
Thank You, dear God, for the gift of life! The cross that appeared on my test and this miracle as a whole is Your loudest yet most comforting affirmation. I praise and thank You for my Nicko, and all our friends and families who have expressed and continue to show their love and undying support. See you on February, Little Bean.
Rumors about Romnick and Barbara’s romance surfaced in June this year. Days later, Romnick confirmed his relationship with the actress through an Instagram post.
"B L E S S E D. Overjoyed and happy. That's what you make me,” he wrote. "Thank you for this blessing. The colours that you bring. I thank God for you and all that you are. You're special to me. I love you Bie.”
Romnick was previously married to Harlene Bautista — with whom he has five children — for 19 years.
In 2018, Romnick and Harlene announced their separation but the former, in an open letter, made it clear that there was no third party involved in their split.
“Much had been said about both of us, and I guess to a certain degree, more about me and my character, by people who do not know me personally. But to set things straight, there was no third party when it happened. I wanted that clear,” he said.
Harlene, on the other hand, is currently dating the son of the late “Master Showman” German “Kuya Germs” Moreno.
Barbara played the role of JM de Guzman’s sister in the film Kung Paano Siya Nawala. She also became part of various iWant original projects such as The Tapes starring Sam Milby and Yassi Pressman as well as Shaina Magdayao and Loisa Andalio’s Past Present Perfect.
In 2019, she came forward to tell her story as a victim of sexual abuse. Prior to Romnick, she was formerly in a relationship with Eraserheads guitarist Marcus Adoro.
Romnick, who first rose to fame in the late ‘70s, became one of the biggest teen heartthrobs in the ‘80s.
