Celebrities continue to help with relief efforts for Taal Volcano victims

As Taal Volcano threatens to erupt again and affect nearby areas like Batangas, celebrities joined relief efforts by collecting and distributing donations to various evacuation centers in different communities. Army reserve members like Matteo Guidicelli, Rocco Nacino, and Dingdong Dantes joined the government while individuals like Judy Ann Santos, Kira Balinger, and Sofia Andres, Alex Gonzaga and Richard Juan held their own donation drives to help Pinoys affected by Taal.

Today I visited an evacuation center in Batangas to distribute relief goods to those in need. I can honestly say that this is the best thing that I have done so far this 2020! I knew what to expect when I saw pictures on social media, pero iba talaga ang pakiramdam pag ikaw mismo ang pumunta dun. I salute all the volunteers, teachers and barangay officials for working so hard these past few days to accommodate and take care of everyone. 🥺🤍 Lastly, in case any of you have something negative to say – 1. I did not do all of this just so I have something to post on social media. 2. I did this because I truly wanted to help my kababayans. Batangas is a place that is very close to my heart and it absolutely broke when everything happened. 💔 Thank you Lord for giving me blessings to share. 🙏🏻

Isang pasasalamat sa lahat ng tumulong sa ating mga kababayang apektado ng Taal Volcano Eruption! Because of your generosity and with the help of the Philippine Navy and Philippine Marines— led by BGen Ariel Caculitan PNRC— we were able to donate 1000 relief packs to evacuation centers in Balayan, Batangas namely, Pastoral Center, Canda, Tanggoy and Patugo. Each relief pack has 1 kilo of rice, 2 Megasardines, 2 instant noodles, 4 sachets of Hana Shampoo, 1 soap, 1 blanket, 2 face masks, 1 thermal blanket, 2 bottled water, and 2 packs of Doña Maria Rice Puffs. This includes around 2000 pieces of clothes. This is in addition to the 708 kgs of rice that we have distributed last Monday through the Philippine Red Cross and the Military. Kaya muli, sa lahat ng donors at volunteers, maraming maraming salamat sa inyong kabayanihan! #BangonBatangas #DamayangPinoy #TaalVolcanoEruption @yespinoy @marianrivera Our partners: MARCSSBn thru Col. Nakakataba talaga sa puso tumulong! Today I was finally able to visit my @sosphilippines family, especially because I was told the Manila chapter expanded due to having ALL 130 members of SOS Lipa evacuated to SOS Metro Manila (which already houses around 100 children). The visit could’ve been earlier but the release of the the N95 face masks I ordered and shipped over from Hong Kong for donation/distribution was delayed. Along with my bro @iamchrisjohnson and @thejuanderers (who I invited late last night at around 9pm haha) also brought a lot of joy and love to the village. We laughed, we danced, we sang, we played, we had so much fun! But what I realised today is that besides the basic needs and supplies, the act of us visiting, supporting, and bringing joy and love to the affected, can go a long way too. We often forget that the no matter how big or how small, help is still help — and collectively we can make a big impact. I hope this post reminds you that in moments like this, what we need is a little bit more COMPASSION, EMPATHY, and actually putting your HEART out to help people in need. Because trust me, if we do all that, our world will definitely be a better place.
