Mark Oblea on losing his virginity at 14: ‘No regrets’

After four years of waiting, Mark Oblea finally gets his dream of making a barkada film in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino entry G!.

“Ang galing kasi nasa taping ako nun tapos sinabi sa akin may good news na may first movie na ako. Sabi ko, ‘Oh? Totoo? Ang galing naman. Astig naman nito!’ Gustong gusto ko talaga magkaroon ng tropa movie. Unang una, ang ganda nung project eh kasi gusto ko talaga magkaroon ng tropa movie. 20 years ko ng kakilala yung mga tropa ko sa Cavite. Hindi siguro ako nagtrabaho sa film kasi organic namin na napakita (yung barkadahan),” he revealed.

In the film, Mark stars with Jameson Blake, and Paulo Angeles as a group of friends who help McCoy de Leon tick off items on his bucket list, including losing his virginity. The former Pinoy Boyband Superstar finalist admitted he can relate to their roles as virgins.

“Oo naman. Alam mo yung mga panahon na kainitan na yung ganung kasabik dahil compared sa ngayon malayo na siguro sa dati (laughs),” he said.

The singer-actor shared that he actually had his first sexual experience at a young age.

“Bata pa ako nun. 14. Ang aga 'di ba? First year ako. First girlfriend. First year ako, fourth year (high school) siya. Siyempre wala tayong alam nun. Ano yun eh, siyempre hindi natin paghahandaan yung ganun. Whatever it takes (laughs). Almost a year kami. First namin pareho,” he divulged.

The G! star said he and his first girlfriend remain friends even after their relationship.

“Friends kami. Siyempre hindi na (napapagkuwentuhan). May someone na siya. Hindi ko  (binalikan). Okay na. Past is past. Kung ano man ang nasa nakaraan, yun na yun. Kasi people come and go, ganun talaga eh. Friends naman kami. Pero yung balikan talaga wala naman so far,” he remarked.

When asked if he regretted not waiting until later to do it, Mark said he would not change anything.

“Hindi. No regrets. Lalake ako eh. Wala eh ganun eh,” he added.
