After arriving in the country last Thursday, September 26, Thai-German teen singer Jannine Weigel said she is very excited to be one of the foreign acts at the first ever Asian Nickelodeon Slime Fest happening on September 28, Saturday. “There’s a little bit of pressure because Nickelodeon’s pretty big right? I feel so honored to be part of this especially since it’s the first time that it’s held in Asia and I’m just really happy to be here and be part of this. I grew up in Germany and they had Nickelodeon on television as well. So I was always watching other artists get slimed and I thought to myself, ‘I want to get slimed one day!’ And now I’m here, it’s so exciting, it’s so surreal,” she told PUSH in an exclusive interview.

Meeting her Pinoy fans for the first time is one the things Jannine said she is looking forward to with her first ever visit to Manila. “When I arrived I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of traffic but it’s quite similar to Bangkok (laughs). Actually I’ve met some Filipinos in L.A, they kind of hired me for a charity concert so that was my first encounter with someone who’s from the Philippines. Apart from that this is actually my first time meeting Filipino fans. I’m very excited to meet them,” she recalled.

A self-confessed Taylor Swift fan, Jannine said there is also one other international singer on her collaboration wish list. “Just like any artist that I really look up to, I also like Iggy Azalea the rapper because I feel like she has this unique sound in her voice which I really like. It would be nice to get to collaborate with her as well. And I’m really open to collaborate with people because I think that’s a really amazing thing to do because everyone has their own unique sound so I don’t really want someone specific that I want to collaborate with because everyone has their own talent and uniqueness,” she explained.

For the Nickelodeon Slimefest, fans of the popular YouTube sensation can look forward to her usual high energy performance. “I’m going to perform a couple of my songs ‘Heart Stop’ and my latest single as well and I think two other songs. It’s mostly upbeat songs and I’m also looking forward to get slimed too (laughs). For me, that’s one of the highlights,” she added.

The Nickelodeon SlimFest will be held on September 28, Saturday at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay city and will feature a festival area full of activities that is open to the public.
