Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 totals over P100M in nationwide earnings

The third edition of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino has successfully raked in over P105 million of total earnings, Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair Liza Dino happily confirmed this week.The Panti Sisters, featuring Paolo Ballesteros, Christian Bables, and Martin del Rosario, was the highest earner among the 10 entries with a total of P60 million earnings since the festival opened last Friday, September 13."Hindi ko lubos inakala na aabot ako sa ganito, ngayong nandito na kami para akong nasa cloud nine," said Christian on the film's unexpected success."Ako rin hindi ko ine-expect ang ganitong suporta kaya naman grabe 'yung appreciation ko sa lahat ng nanood," added Martin, who won the coveted Best Actor award this year.Top 2 went to the Arci Munoz and JC Santos starrer, Open, while Cuddle Weather, starring Sue Ramirez and RK Bagatsing, landed on Top 3."Masaya kasi maraming naka-relate, nag-i-ignite siya ng discussions. Nagti-trigger siya ng mga tao," said JC on the public's warm reception to Open."It's really a surprise for us that a lot of people can relate du'n sa story... So far wala pa naman akong nakitang pangit na review," added Arci.The Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is set to run until Thursday, September 19.
