Kapamilya stars give back through the ABS-CBN Ball 2019

This year’s ABS-CBN Ball, held on September 14 at the ballroom of Shangri-La at The Fort was an event that had much to celebrate: the network’s 65th year in the industry, honoring the late Gina Lopez, and continuing the event’s pro-children advocacy.

The annual ball is definitely one event that Kapamilya stars look forward to. It’s a chance to take a break from work and party the night away with friends and colleagues. It’s also a chance for them to dress up to the nines, partnering with their favorite designers to find the perfect outfit. This year’s Filipiniana theme fit perfectly with ABS-CBN’s primary directive: to be in the service of the Filipino.

Kapamilya artists have always welcomed the opportunity to give back. Last year’s charity ball successfully resulted in the reopening of the Bantay Bata Children’s Village. This 2019, the target is to support its educational program by granting scholarships to underprivileged children. Continuing this pro-children advocacy is a fitting tribute to Gina Lopez, founder of ABSCBN Foundation and Bantay Bata 163, who herself was an active leader in the rescue of thousands of children from physical and sexual abuse.

More than being the social event of the season, this advocacy is the reason for the huge turnout of celebrities. Stars shared their thoughts on education, of wanting to be part of positive change, and of appreciating the chance to contribute to a worthy cause. They agree that educating our youth is a huge step towards a better future for the nation, and are thankful to be part of an event that makes this vision a reality.
