REVIEW: ‘G!’ movie’s McCoy De Leon, Jameson Blake, Mark Oblea, and Paulo Angeles are definitely the new ‘Tropa Goals’

Film director Dondon Santos found the perfect set of lead actors for his latest movie, G! This new movie from Cineko Productions is a light take on a familiar yet ideal friendship that every young high school boy has.

G! follows the story of a typical tropa composed of four high school varsity football players, Sam (McCoy De Leon), Dom (Jameson Blake), Wacks (Mark Oblea), and Bryan (Paulo Angeles). The group is led by their Team Captain Sam, who suddenly becomes passionate about completing his bucket list after being diagnosed with cancer. Being the best tropa, the other three boys Dom, Wacks, and Bryan went G! (go with flow) with everything that Sam plans, even going out of town and pursuing Sam's first sexual experience.

On their way to the "best days of their life" (especially to their dying friend), secrets are revealed and their friendship tested.

McCoy and Jameson proved their acting skills and professionalism yet again to this movie. Despite of the awkwardness of their roles on top of their real life issues, McCoy and Jameson delivered commendable performances that fans might rarely see on TV.

The other two of the tropa, Mark Oblea and Paulo Angeles, are natural at bantering. They help balance the emotions from the intense situations in the movie.

G! promises a relatable story for every young boy or their older selves. This is a good breather movie among the entries of this year's Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino.

G! will be screened in cinemas along with other PPP 2019 movies, starting on September 13.
