The winner of the Miss Universe 2019 is set to receive a new crown by world-renowned jeweler Mouawad.
The Miss Universe Organization on Wednesday, September 11, confirmed that Mouaward is now its official crown sponsor for the pageant, as well as in the 2020 editions of Miss USA and Miss Teen USA.
"Collaborating with The Miss Universe Organization to design these crowns and tiaras has been a fantastic experience. We look forward to unveiling these unique works of art in the coming months," said Mouawad Co-guardian Pascal Mouawad in a recent statement in light of the announcement.
The new diamond crown will be replacing the iconic Phoenix Mikimoto crown worn by previous Miss Universe winners from 2002 to 2007, and again in 2017 when Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa was crowned.
She then passed down the same crown to Catriona Gray when she won the Miss Universe the following year.
Mouawad, which originated in Lebanon in 1890 and is now headed by the 4th generation of the Mouawads, has been worn by several notable stars including Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Christina Aguilera, Amy Adams, and Tina Fey.
The jewelry house is also known for its collaboration with Victoria's Secret to create bejeweled bras, dubbed as 'Fantasy Bras,' for the lingerie maker's fashion shows since 2003.
