After the success of his single “Buwan” which was launched last year, Juan Karlos Labajo said he is already busy working on a new album for his fans this year. “We’re recording an album now. It’s a full-length album with my band and everything. I also have collaborations with Gloc-9. It’s something new in a sense. It’s good,” he told PUSH.
The 18-year-old vocalist said it is uncertain whether he will retain his style or try a new one in the upcoming album. “I’m not sure. I don’t know. I’ve never had an album in a sense where I’m the one who made everything. So this one, I don’t know it’s going to be basically lahat ng songs dito gawa namin ng band. So we’ll see. Even I don’t know everything like if it’s going to sound like me at all. Hindi pa namin alam yung release ng album, some time around this year,” he said.
With The Voice judge Lea Salonga sharing in a recent interview how happy she is for the path he has taken as a singer, JK admitted he would love to be able to learn from the Broadway star again. “It’s an honor coming from Lea, na-miss ko siya actually. Kasi hanggang DM na lang kami ngayon. We haven’t seen each other for a long time kasi palagi siyang busy with everything and wala rin talagang time for us to see each other so I really miss her and it means a lot for me, all the things she says and all that. That’s really nice,” he said.
