EXCLUSIVE: JK Labajo excited to release a new album this year

After the success of his single “Buwan” which was launched last year, Juan Karlos Labajo said he is already busy working on a new album for his fans this year. “We’re recording an album now. It’s a full-length album with my band and everything. I also have collaborations with Gloc-9. It’s something new in a sense. It’s good,” he told <a href='https://push.abs-cbn.com'>PUSH</a>.The 18-year-old vocalist said it is uncertain whether he will retain his style or try a new one in the upcoming album. “I’m not sure. I don’t know. I’ve never had an album in a sense where I’m the one who made everything. So this one, I don’t know it’s going to be basically lahat ng songs dito gawa namin ng band. So we’ll see. Even I don’t know everything like if it’s going to sound like me at all. Hindi pa namin alam yung release ng album, some time around this year,” he said.With <a href='https://thevoice.abs-cbn.com'>The Voice</a> judge Lea Salonga sharing in a recent interview how happy she is for the path he has taken as a singer, JK admitted he would love to be able to learn from the Broadway star again. “It’s an honor coming from Lea, na-miss ko siya actually. Kasi hanggang DM na lang kami ngayon. We haven’t seen each other for a long time kasi palagi siyang busy with everything and wala rin talagang time for us to see each other so I really miss her and it means a lot for me, all the things she says and all that. That’s really nice,” he said.
