Angel Locsin has denied taking a swipe at Julia Barretto after netizens took the liberty of lacing color to her Instagram Stories update with the text "kwentong barbero."
On Thursday, "The General's Daughter" star took to social media to address the speculation that the said update was an allusion to the controversy involving Julia and former couple Bea Alonzo and Gerald Anderson.
"The world doesn't revolve around certain issues. I would never use a child to convey something negative," Angel wrote in a short statement.
Her post came a day after Julia aired her sentiments on the issue tagging her as "third party" in the breakup of fellow Kapamilya artists Bea and Gerald.
There, she accused the Eerie actress of being “sly” and “encouraging a culture of hate” by deliberately liking Instagram posts suggesting an affair between her and Gerald.
Her statement follows Gerald's interview about his breakup with Bea, where he denied allegations that there was an "outside force" involved in their separation.
Bea, for her part, addressed the controversy by going on the record that they "did not break up, he [Gerald] just started not talking to me", when asked to clarify their status after the latter supposedly claimed that they had already called it quits.
In the wake of the controversy, Angel expressed her support for Bea, whom she co-starred in the 2013 film "Four Sisters and a Wedding", as she shared on Instagram a group photo with her onscreen sister, captioned with the hashtag #ParaKayB.
Later, she shared on her Instagram Stories a quote addressed to her women followers, which read, “You’ll never see women arguing or fighting over a good man. A good man won’t put you in the position of not knowing where you stand."
