Chynna Ortaleza took to social media on Monday to warn her followers of an online 'scammer' claiming to represent O/C Records, the record label owned by her and her husband, singer Kean Cipriano.

On Instagram, the 36-year-old actress released a notice to the public against the scammer who she said has been sending "fact-less, nonsensical messages" to their family and co-workers via a number of social media accounts.

Along with screenshots bearing proof of the scam, she wrote, "We do not know who this person is and she is not part of anything that we do. And most importantly, she does not work for OC Records.

"My friends and colleagues are concerned because this person has been sending private messages to them as well. I realise that this kind of behaviour is something that should not be tolerated any further."

"Social media should be a place of peace. It saddens me that some people use this to mislead people. More importantly, they use it to mislead themselves."

Chynna, who works as the vice president and talent development of O/C Records, added that she and Kean, the label's chairman and chief executive officer, will not hesitate to seek legal action "if this continues and we feel that our safety is [being] jeopardized".

"We used to dismiss this as a small thing. IGNORED her messages since they are all fictitious. But we were advised by our lawyer to put this out here to serve as a warning for other people. Most especially because she has started messaging our family members privately & is attempting to bring our company into the picture," she continued.

"She has done the same thing to a youth pastor as well. Apparently this is not the first time she has exhibited this kind of behaviour. STOP," she added.

O/C Records was launched in August 2018 in partnership with Viva Entertainment boss Vic del Rosario. It currently represents local acts Earl Generao, Rice Lucido, Frizzle Anne, Bita and the Botflies, former IV of Spades member Unique Salonga, and Kean himself.
