K-pop star Lee Jonghyun announced through a statement released by his agency FNC Entertainment that he is leaving his group CNBLUE.

This comes after Lee got involved in controversies while he was on leave for military service.

In a report by Soompi, Lee apologized for his behavior and felt embarrassed after disappointing his fans.

"I once again apologize to the people I’ve hurt through my inappropriate words and actions and to all the people that I’ve greatly disappointed.

"I am informing you that I’m withdrawing from CNBLUE. I feel sorry that I have caused harm for the members, and I have told the members as well that I am withdrawing. I am ashamed to have disappointed the fans who believed in me."

He then deactivated his Instagram account after announcing his withdrawal from the group.

Lee first made headlines in South Korea earlier this year after admitting that he received inappropriate videos of women from Korean singer and TV personality Jung Joonyoung. He was soon arrested for illegal distribution and filming of sex videos.

He got caught in another controversy when a YouTuber exposed his direct messages for her using his verified account. He allegedly sent her inappropriate messages.
