The reconciliation took place at the 36th death anniversary rites of Kris Aquino's father at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque City Wednesday, August 21.
“I hope we can let bygones be bygones.”
These were the exact words of Kris Aquino when she and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas finally made peace following a months-long dispute over the former’s brother, former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
The reconciliation took place at the 36th death anniversary rites of her father at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque City Wednesday, August 21, where the so-called Queen of All Media unexpectedly invited Mar to join her before the tomb of the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., for a photo op.
“Please join me and let’s take a picture so Noy sees it,” she told Mar, referring to her brother, who she said could not make it to the ceremony because he is sick.
“I just want to do it publicly. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for everything that happened. Nagselos ako because I felt Noy chose you over me. I hope we can let bygones be bygones,” she added.
Later, she shared their photo via her Instagram Stories and wrote: “Kinakapatid ko po si Mar Roxas. Ninang Judy was my baptismal ninang. Nag-sorry ako for our DADS and most especially, for NOY.”
The reconcilement comes months after Kris slammed Mar’s campaign manager for allegedly blaming Noynoy for his defeat in the presidential elections back in 2016.
Meanwhile, the actress-host also extended her apology to Mar’s mother, Judy Araneta Roxas.
“Baka ho hindi niyo alam [ang] mommy niya (Roxas), ninang ko sa binyag and she was really so good to me,” she said.
“Tell Ninang Judy, I’m also sorry,” she added to which Roxas responded: “No problem.”
