The Killer Bride features the new pairing of Joshua Garcia and Janella Salvador who both came from their previous tandems of Joshlia (Joshua with Julia Barretto) and ElNella (Elmo Magalona and Janella) respectively. JoshNella immediately created a buzz online when the pair first appeared on the series.
Joshua plays the cynical and overprotective Elias who is “ayaw ng kasinungalingan na tao. Gusto niya lagi katotohanan kaya siya napaka-protective na tao sa mga taong mahalaga sa kanya, sa mga mahal niya,” he said. Janella plays Emma, the attractive but mysterious lass who suddenly appears and claims to be possessed by the killer bride accused of killing her would-be brother-in-law.
“Bago ang love team namin. Bago mai-ooffer naming dalawa, so exciting ito,” Joshua stated.
Admittedly though, the rapport between them took some work. “Na-ilang kami sa mga eksena na physical,” Joshua revealed without batting an eyelash. They revealed to that they underwent a “Sensuality Workshop,” which they did for almost a week to break the ice.
Joshnella described what they both learned from the workshop. Joshua said, “May timeline na tinatawag kase iyung nagtuturo sa’min. Pinagharap kami sa first stage ng workshop. Kuwentuhan ng mga pangyayari sa buhay. Saka pa iyung sensual na mini-mirror namin ang isa’t-isa, nagyakap kami doon”. Then Janella interjected, “Basta kailangan lang, parang sabi sa’min dun, dapat comfortable kami with touching each other, kase that’s what sensuality is about.
“So dapat connected kayo walang awkwardness, walang ilangan,” Janella said of their workshop activities.
What made the sessions effective for them both? “Parehas kaming open eh. Parehas kaming gustong matuto. So in fairness sa’min di na rin kami nailing sa isa’t-isa. Aim namin ni Janella dapat natural iyung kuryente between sa characters namin,” the soft-spoken actor firmly put.
With the first week airing of The Killer Bride winning at over 23% viewership ratings, viewers should look forward to what this new pair can do.
