"John Denver Trending" raked in the most number of awards at the 2019 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival, including Best Picture and Best Actor for lead star Jansen Magpusao.
The movie, which centered on the story of a 14-year-old whose life changed when a video of him brutally attacking a classmate went viral, also won Best Original Music Score, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography.
Meanwhile, Ruby Ruiz received the Best Actress award for the Ted Boborol-helmed "Iska".
Ricky Davao was named Best Supporting Actor for his role in "F#*@BOIS", while Ella Cruz was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Edward".
