It’s an exciting month ahead for the firstborn daughter of Ruffa Gutierrez as she fulfills her dream of studying abroad.

15-year-old Lorin Guttierez, one of the actress’ two children with her ex-husband Yilmaz Bektas, is currently in the United States to study Economics in a three-week summer course at her dream school, the University of California Los Angeles(UCLA).

In an exclusive interview with Cornerstone Entertainment, Lorin said she felt “super excited” once she got accepted at the university, adding that she didn’t expect to get in as she applied a day after the applications closed.

“I’ve never done an abroad summer camp or course so I’m really interested to see what the experience will be like,” she continued.

The Filipina-Turkish beauty, who will not be back until August, said that her mother was both “happy” and “nervous” when she learned about her plan of studying away from home.

“It’s going to be my first time away from home this long and being away from home for a month as a 15-year-old is daunting. I’ll be staying in a dorm the whole time and will be cooking, cleaning and doing my own laundry so she made sure I was prepared for all that,” she said.

“She knew that this would be a great opportunity for me and didn’t hesitate to allow me. UCLA is my dream university and I hope to study there after high school, but its incredibly hard to get into for actual college so I’m making sure to keep my options open,” she added.

Ruffa, who accompanied her daughter to the airport to personally send her off last week, had earlier posted on social media to wish Lorin the best of luck on her new journey.

“This little girl I carried while I was pregnant with [Venice, Lorin’s sibling] is off on her own this summer as she expands her knowledge at one of the top-ranked economics institutes in the world. Lorin, spread your wings and embrace this new journey! I love you,” she said.

Meanwhile, “Definitely not,” was Lorin’s resolute answer when asked if she plans on leaving the industry.

“Once I’m back by August, I will resume with life as it is now,” she added.
