A beauty queen from Thailand recently found herself in hot water after being accused by Filipino netizens of "body-shaming" Miss Universe 2019 Catriona Gray.

In screenshots provided by fan page Pageantry Rumors through Facebook on Friday, 2019 Miss Grand Thailand hopeful Coco Arayha re-posted a side-by-side photo of Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa and the Filipino-Australian beauty queen labeled, as such, "fit" and "fat", respectively. The edited image appears to be originally posted by fan account Miss Grand Family on Instagram, but has since been taken down, possibly due to the online backlash that ensued.
In a lengthy caption, Pageantry Rumors wrote, "Catriona Gray considers Thailand as her second home, but why?"
It could be recalled that it was in Bangkok, Thailand where Catriona was crowned Miss Universe last December.
"It's so sad that an aspiring international beauty queen that should be a role model of a modest woman needs to post a comparison between two successful ladies," they continued.
"We don't know the reason why Miss Coco Arayha (Miss Grand Thailand 2019 candidate) posted this but we are sure that this kind of act shouldn't be tolerated. To Miss Coco Arayha, we are still praying for you pageantry journey and God bless," they added.
In fact, this isn't the first time that Catriona became the target of body-shaming on social media. Just days after her Miss Universe win, her swimsuit feature for Vogue Thailand triggered online bashing as critics described her as "chubby", "plump", and "not toned" enough for the shoot - then prompting fellow beauty queen, Miss Universe Canada 2016 Siera Bearchell, to speak up in defense of the 25-year-old.

"There are women, women of all ages, who are reading those comments and they'll think, 'If these people are saying these stuff about her, what would they say about me?’" she said
“It's damaging. It's damaging to the person the message directed towards, it's damaging to the people who already feel self conscious, they feel they don't have a high self worth or already don't like their bodies. Those words are just damaging,” she added.
