When news of the JoshLia split came out, the name of Gerald Anderson was also thrown into the mix as a possible third party. Gerald was Julia Barretto’s leading man in Between Maybes, the latter’s project at the time, and people speculated that the two became too close for comfort.When interviewed during the launch of Skechers Performance Run 2019, Gerald dismissed the rumors with a smile. “Ganoon talaga e, sanay na ako,” he said. He has been in the showbiz industry for more than a decade now, and understands that these issues are part of the job. “Sa dami ng ginagawa ko sa buhay, may oras pa ba ako sa mga issue? Just stay positive, keep moving forward. Go lang ng go.”Has he gotten in touch with Julia to talk about it? Gerald answered in the negative. He chooses to keep his distance and advises others to do the same. “Bigyan nalang natin sila ng privacy sa kung ano ang pinagdadaanan nila.”On the other hand, Gerald’s love life is going pretty well. He and girlfriend Bea Alonzo are approaching their third year anniversary soon. Is a big celebration in the works? “Tignan natin, we’ll see. Sobrang hectic ng schedule namin. Hanap kami ng oras.” Still, he wouldn’t have it any other way. “Exciting, maraming lessons. It’s team work,” said Gerald about their relationship. He also credits Bea for their success as a couple. “Marami akong natutunan sa kanya tungkol sa relasyon. Very mature siya pag dating sa ganoon.”Both Gerald and Bea are busy juggling several work commitments at the moment. “May teleserye sya, may movie din. May teleserye ako,” he said. So how do they do it? “Kung gusto mo, laging may paraan, di ba? It’s sacrifice, time management, understanding. Kahit napakahirap ng schedule, ginagawa namin ‘yung best namin. That’s all you can really ask for. That’s all you can do.”
