Anne Curtis took to social media on Saturday to thank a transgender pastor for entrusting her with his life story as guest star of Maalaala Mo Kaya’s special episode on Saturday, July 13.
For its 28th anniversary, the It’s Showtime host returned on the drama anthology series as Marzz Balaoro, a trans man, overseas Filipino worker, and pastor of a small church in Hong Kong that welcomes all genders.
“Love should always come first. No matter the gender or how people identify themselves as, at the end of the day, we are all humans who deserve to live in a world of LOVE and RESPECT,” wrote the actress on Instagram.
“Maraming Salamat Marrz Balaoro sa pagpayag nyo po na gampanan ko ang kwento ng buhay niyo, at sa MMK sa tiwala na binigay nyo po sa akin sa special episode na to. Happy 28th Anniversary. Thank you for watching,” she added.
Earlier, Anne said that his inspiring journey was what urged her to take on the challenging role in the first place.
"It's always very difficult to tackle a role like this but I'm very inspired by his story [and] that's why I decided to take it on. I really hope to give justice to it," she said.
And Anne did just that, based on the heap of praises on her moving performance as Marrz on social media. Check out some tweets below:
