Sam Concepcion talked about being paired with actress Nadine Lustre in the upcoming VIVA Films movie Indak during the said project’s bloggers conference on Thursday, July 11.
Confirming that Nadine’s character is his character’s love interest, Sam told bloggers, “Well, yes, may angle na gano’n in the movie because like I said, sa character ni Vin (his role), he’s a leader and marami siyang responsibilities but I think love really is what keeps him stable. He cares a lot about people and as Vin, he just wants to be maybe get to receive that love in return so he goes over and above just to get the kind of love that he gives.”
He also reiterated that it is much easier to work with someone he has already known. “We’ve been friends for a while now. I think that’s what made it a lot easier and a lot more fun to do. Siyempre we already know each other, we work around each other all the time… Actually iba rin siya na experience because you put us in a work atmosphere and I guess it’s a little different. But definitely, the fact that we know each other helped a lot,” Sam said about working with Nadine in the film.
However, when asked if he will have a kissing scene with Nadine in the movie, he jokingly replied, “Actually hindi ko pa kasi napapanood so hindi ko pa alam.”
But given that he is Nadine’s love team partner in the movie, how did Nadine’s boyfriend and Sam’s close friend James Reid react upon hearing the news?
“I guess I should ask him about that. You should see his reaction to that,” he lightheartedly said. “But no, no, of course he’s very supportive. I love that I get to work with Nadz [Nadine’s nickname] and you know, it’s a great experience. And sabi ko nga, after this, I’d work with James after para iba rin. But yeah, it’s a pretty good, pretty whole experience to work with Nadine. I can’t wait for him to watch it,” Sam told Push, referring to James.
Describing what the dance-centered movie is about, Sam said that, “The story is about stepping out of your comfort zone and confronting the unknown. It’s a story about self-discovery of coming to terms with yourself in your situations in life. It’s a story about passion, about love, about relationships, about family. It’s a very Filipino film na may puso.”
VIVA Films’ Indak, starring Sam Concepcion and Nadine Lustre, is set to hit local cinemas starting August 7.
