Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards have each gone through certain preparations for their respective roles in their upcoming film Hello, Love, Goodbye.
Aside from having to learn the basics of bartending (Ethan, his character in the film, is a bartender), the 27-year-old actor shared that he had to shed pounds for the project after director Cathy Garcia-Molina confronted him about his weight.
“Hindi na po yata napigilan ni Direk,” shared Alden during the media conference for the Star Cinema production held Tuesday. “Sabi niya, 'Alden, halika rito, tingnan mo, ang taba mo.' Parang iyon po ang nag-drive sa akin.”
For her part, Kathryn, who will portray the role of Joy, a waitress, was not allowed to use her cellphone while on the set – an order that inevitably resulted in a disagreement between her and Direk Cathy.
"Sa nakikita ko, nagagalit na siya,” recalled the filmmaker. “So tinanong ko, 'Nagagalit ka ba sa 'kin?' Sabi niya, 'Opo.’”
But even with these restrictions coming from their director, Alden remains especially grateful to Cathy for the warm treatment he’s received throughout the making of Hello, Love, Goodbye, citing,"Sobra akong na-move. Hindi ko akalain na ganoon 'yong magiging effect ko kay Direk while doing the film.”
Hello, Love, Goodbye is slated for a nationwide release on July 31. Cast members also include Maymay Entrata, Maricel Laxa, Joross Gamboa, Jameson Blake, Jerome Ponce, Maxine Medina, and Kakai Bautista.
