After opening his own gym in The Th3rd Floor earlier this year, Gerald Anderson said he has also been busy preparing for his new soap which promises to feature a lot of action-packed scenes. This means having to undergo a rigorous workout for the actor everyday. “Mga two hours pero minsan twice or thrice a day so minsan six hours or four hours sa isang araw, depende sa araw. Kung may taping naman ako, during lunch break tatakas muna ako, mag-wo-workout muna ako sa bahay kung malapit lang yung location,” he said.

But more than exercising his body, Gerald said he also had to change his mentality regarding keeping his body in shape. “I think more than yung parts ng body ko, more on yung performance ko sa bawat workout, I think yun yung sikreto dun eh, is kung paano mo talunin yung last workout mo or yung last personal record mo. Yun yung gusto ko i-promote eh. Kasi dati ganun ako eh, lalo yung sa showbiz na alam ko maghuhubad ako bukas, may eksena ako, may love scene ako, kailangan maganda katawan. Parang hindi siya pangmatagalan (na goal). Pero kung may goal ka na gusto mo talunin yung sarili mo, yun yung mas may weight,” he explained.

As a Philippine Coast Guard auxiliary officer, Gerald said he is proud to be a lieutenant. “Going strong and malapit naman talaga sa puso ko yung military dahil siyempre yung tatay ko ex-military and iba yung binibigay nila para sa bansa natin na minsan na-o-overlook natin kaya ako na-e-excite dito sa bagong TV series na ginagawa namin. Makikita natin kung ano pinagdadaanan nila,” he shared.

The Kapamilya hunk said he has a disciplined diet. “Nag-promise ako sa sarili ko and wala naman ako dahilan na dapat 2019 ito yung pinakamagandang body ko. Yan yung goal ko. Alalay lang sa pagkain. Wala naman ako specific diet ngayon but sa dami ko ng exercise na ginagawa kasi may basketball practice ako and then diretso ako dito and then pag may games kami balik ako dito so hindi ako nagkulang sa exercise,” he explained.

Gerald said that one of the reasons behind his new gym is also to encourage people to live healthier lives. “Yun yung gusto ko i-share sa tao, kung paano yung naging lifestyle ko, kung ano yung tumulong sa akin para kahit papaano marating ko yung narating ko ngayon dahil din sa third floor ng bahay ko,” he added.
