As an animal lover, Heart Evangelista says it has always been a dream for her to champion their welfare.
In her most recent Instagram post, Heart Evangelista shared that she is about to make one of her dreams come true.
Standing on a vacant lot, Heart revealed that she's building an animal welfare facility, a plan she has had for years now.
“As you all know, I’ve always had a soft spot for animals and it’s a dream of mine to be able to do more to champion their welfare. This will be the site of one special endeavour that is near and dear to my heart— building a facility which provides services such as spaying, neutering, tagging and shots, and a community that welcomes animals and treats them with love.
“This is step one and I am already brimming with excitement for this special project and I can’t wait to finally turn this dream into reality! Doing this one step at a time until we get there,” she captioned her photo.
The actress also used the hashtags #Sorsogon #MahalKongSorsogon indicating her husband Gov. Chiz Escudero’s hometown as the site for her ‘community.’
Heart has been an ambassador of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) for 13 years now and has been a staunch advocate of animal adoption. She owns several dogs including an aspin named Panda, which she always features on her Instagram.

In an interview with PUSH, the 34-year-old star said the dog touched her heart so much, she even cried after giving Panda up for adoption. The new owners ended up giving it back to her.
“You know not everybody will adopt so in my own way I also foster dogs. They stay in my house until I find them a home. So Pan-pan was one of them and then nakuha na siya pero nagkaroon ako ng feeling na hindi ko pala kayang ibigay so iniyakan ko pa si Chiz kasi ang dami na naming aso sa bahay. So binalik ng kumuha sa kanya si Pan-pan and then nabalik siya sa akin,” she recalled.
