After the success of That Thing Called Tadhana in 2014, many movie fans are eager to know if there would be a sequel to the hit movie. In an interview with Cinema One Exclusive, one of the movie's lead stars JM de Guzman shared that there is still no confirmation on whether there would be a sequel.
"Noong last po kaming nakapagkwentuhan ni Angge (his co-star Angelica Panganiban), may nabanggit siya na may pinitch po raw sa kanya pero iba po. Pero itong Tadhana depende po 'yan kay direk Tonette (movie director Antoinette Jadaone), siya po ang lumikha ng material, nag-direk, nag-produce," JM said.
Is he open to doing a sequel in the future? "Oo naman po, pero siguro ibang title," he replied.
JM was also asked on what he likes most about working with direk Tonette and That Thing Called Tadhana co-star Angelica.
"Si direk Tonette po kasi para rin po siyang si direk Cathy (Garcia-Molina), nakikipag-converse muna siya, nakikipagkwentuhan, on the spot pwedeng magbago 'yung script kung iba't iba 'yung pananaw at kalmado siya katrabaho kaya walang stress, masaya," she stated.
On working with Angelica, he said, "Si Angelica ganon din very generous, tapos kapag nagbigay siya ng performance niya hindi selfish, walang wall, and madaling katrabaho and sobrang galing," he stated.
That Thing Called Tadhana was both a critical and commercial success when it was screened at the 2014 Cinema One Originals Film Festival. It was also nominated for Best Picture in the said film fest.
