‘We’re so happy to be here’: Here’s why these two Victoria’s Secret Angels came to Manila

Last Wednesday, June 26, some of the most fashionable celebrities and influencers gathered at The Fifth in Rockwell for the launch of global lifestyle brand Penshoppe’s first-ever beauty line called Beauty Pop.

But unbeknownst to them, two Victoria’s Secret Angels, models Lais Ribeiro and Romee Strijd, flew all the way to Manila to join them for the momentous event.

Beauty Pop introduced the two models, who both felt happy to be in the Philippines, as its international faces.

“We’re very excited to be here,” Ribeiro stated as they set foot on stage. “We’re so happy to be here in the Philippines. I’m sad because we don’t have enough time to meet everyone and see more of the city,” she added.

Meanwhile, Romee Strijd said: “We’re so happy that we can finally share what we’ve been up to.”

Several netizens took to Twitter to express how surprised they were after finding out that the two Victoria's Secret Angels visited the country.

Both Ribeiro, a Brazilian model, and Stridj, a Dutch model, officially became Victoria’s Secret Angels in 2015.

The brand also introduced Tatiana Rodrigo, McKenzie Kinsella, Caitlin Robinson, and Danielle Daza as its local ambassadors.

Beauty Pop’s Japan-formulated lipstick line, which boasts a total of 18 shades, comes in two matte finishes namely the HydraMatte and the LiteMatte.
