In the clip, the cast of the show were at an intimate but lively celebration and the groovy 90-year-old actor was dancing with Yassi and Bianca.
Netizens’ hearts broke after seeing the video. Eddie starred in the show as the villainous Don Emilio, also known as Senor Gustavo, for three years. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano also paid tribute to him and shared some of the behind-the-scenes clips where it showed how dedicated he was to his craft.
His friends in the industry paid respects to the actor and veteran actress Susan Roces also recalled the good times she shared with her colleague during his wake.
“Mahal ng lahat sa industriya si Eddie Garcia. Wala pa atang akong nakitang nasa pelikula—crew, director o artista na may masamang sinabi tungkol kay Eddie," she said.
Susan has co-starred with Eddie in several projects dating back to their teenage years. He was also close to Susan’s late husband Fernando Poe Jr. who passed away in 2004. She then lauded how loving Eddie is to his longtime partner Lilibeth Romero.
"Napaluha ako noong hawak-hawak niya iyong trophy at sabi niya, 'Thank you, my Lilibeth. I love you.' Sa gabing ito, napatunayan ko kung ano talaga ang dahilan na si Eddie ay naging masaya hanggang sa kanyang pagtanda. Dahil sa iyo [Lilibeth] at sa iyong mga anak.
The late actor’s ashes are set to be scattered over Manila Bay in accordance with his wishes.
