“Mula doon sa araw na nag-storycon kami, dire-diretso na hanggang ngayon, naging apo niya na ako. Tuwing magkikita kami, ang tawag niya sa akin ay ‘apo, Benjamin.’ At ang sarap-sarap sa pakiramdam na nagkaroon ako ng lolong si Eddie Garcia... Isang malaking karangalan sa akin 'yon,” said the comedian.
Meanwhile, singers Zsa Zsa Padilla, Erik Santos, Karylle, Randy Santiago, and Kyla paid homage to the screen legend by performing a touching number. Fellow host Anne Curtis offered a prayer in loving memory of Eddie.
Eddie was declared dead by the Makati Medical Center on Thursday at 4:55 p.m. after suffering from a neck fracture due to an accident. He was 90.
