For her incredible performance in the award-winning movie Oda sa Wala, comedienne Pokwang is nominated for best actress in the Malaysian Golden Global Awards this year.
Joining her in the top category of nominees is her co-star, Joonee Gamboa, who is being recognized as best supporting actor, as well as stars of critically acclaimed film Liway starring Glaiza de Castro and Dominic Rocco.
Both Oda sa Wala and Liway have sealed a nomination for best picture.
Meanwhile, filmmaker Dwein Baltazar are up for two nominations for Oda sa Wala - best screenplay and best cinematography.
Celebrating its third year, the film festival released the official list of nominees last Tuesday.

Oda sa Wala, a Black Sheep production about an old maid who owns a funeral shop, premiered in 2018 at the QCinema International Film Festival. Meanwhile, Liway, which narrates the true story of Martial Law victims, opened at the Cinemalaya film festival in the same year.
The 3rd Malaysian Golden Global Awards is set to kick off on July 14 until 19. The awards ceremony will be held on July 20.
