EXCLUSIVE: Makisig Morales on getting married at 22: ‘Nicole really is a blessing to me’

After sharing his wedding photos exclusively on PUSH, (LOOK: Makisig Morales’ beautiful beach wedding in Australia) Makisig Morales shared how he came to be married at just 22 years old. Kaya I considered my Dad’s advice din,” he told PUSH.

Makisig said his decision to propose to Nicole Joson had the blessing of his parents who are also based in Australia. “Nag-propose ako nung parehas kami nasa Perth. I took her sa C Restaurant in the Sky which is a revolving restaurant na kita mo yung top view ng Perth city. Hindi niya alam na I was going to propose, kakain lang kami dun at dapat nag-dress up siya, ako naman suit and tie. Then out of nowhere, bigla niya ako tinanong, ‘Bakit kailangan naka ganung damit? So basically, parehas kami nagulat ni Nicole (laughs). Hindi niya expected na I was going to propose. Pero it went well. She said yes,” he recalled.

Their beautiful and intimate wedding was held in La Perouse, Sydney on a cliff overlooking the ocean. “Nicole and I decided na all-white at beach look or outfit, dahil nakita namin yung venue and naisip po namin na yun ang magandang look. On my wedding day, to be honest, I had mixed emotions. Nicole really is a blessing to me,” Makisig said.

The former Super Inggo star admits he has matured a lot since tying the knot. “Siguro mas mag-ma-mature kami in the way you see life. Maraming sacrifices na kailangan gawin at siyempre give and take.

Growing up in a family with nine siblings, Makisig said he will let his wife decide when to start their own family. How many? Depende po kay Nicole. Kaso sabi niya idol niya si mama (laughs). Pero sa ngayon working kami Nicole and focused sa mga career namin,” he shared.

Currently, Makisig and Nicole are based in Sydney where they get to work together in the same place. “It’s a win-win situation para sa akin kasi nagagawa ko yung gusto ko at the same time, kasama ko pa yung mahal ko,” he added.
