After posting photos of herself with Dave Moffat enjoying their time together at a private beach in Batangas last week, Dionne Monsanto admitted she never expected netizens to speculate that she was now dating a member of the Canadian pop-rock band The Moffatts. Also with them on the trip was close friend Gee-ann Abrahan. “I think it’s really funny that people think that Dave and I are dating because I’ve known Dave for three years now. And we’ve been friends ever since and I’ve posted pictures of us before and he’s posted pictures of us also before. It’s only nowthat people are thinking that we’re seeing each other in that way but we are not dating. We’re very good friends,” she told PUSH.
The General’s Daughter actress said it’s not true the Canadian artist actually extended his stay in the country so he could spend more time with her. “He’s a great guy but there are people who are really just friends to you and for you. But no he only extended his stay because of the availability of flights (laughs). And also for the actual birthday of Raffy (daughter of Mickey Perz and Gee-ann Abrahan) which was June 13,” she explained.
Last February, Dionne revealed she was actually in a relationship with Mickey Perz’s best friend Ryan who is based in Switzerland.
“Dave knows Ryan and also yung jowa ni Dave kakilala ko rin so buti na lang yung mga jowa namin they’re not the jealous type so they were okay because they understand that it’s showbiz and what’s crazy also is of all the news that came out, no one dared to ask me personally, no one messaged me to confirm if we really were dating. So thank you for giving us the opportunity to clear this out. I’m very happy with Ryan. He’s Mickey’s best friend since they were young. Ryan and I have known each other for 12 years, since 2007. So it’s been a long time. He’s half-Filipino, half-Swiss,” she said.
Dionne said she is looking forward to seeing her boyfriend again in a few months. “He’s back in Switzerland now. But I’m actually going to visit him in August. It’s my turn this time because he’s come to the Philippines so many times na for different reasons naman, not just for me but also for the business, a lot of our friends are here. It’s going to be my first time in Switzerland which makes it more exciting. And also it’s going to be his birthday on September 1 so I’ll be there from August until September,” she shared. Ryan recently opened Bliss restaurant in Siargao island this year and will be opening his resort in late September in time for surf competition season.
Even though she’s known for playing ‘mataray’ roles on television, the former Pinoy Big Brother housemate said Ryan is not bothered dating someone from showbiz. “He thinks it’s really funny because people are very intimidated with me and because he knows I’m not like that. He knows I’m a very happy person. So he thinks it’s cute when people think twice before taking a picture with me whenever we’re together,” she added.
